HGV Driver
To safely and efficiently operate Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) for the transport of goods/materials, ensuring timely deliveries and collections while maintaining full compliance with road safety, company, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Driving & Transport Operations Operate HGV vehicles in a safe, legal, and efficient manner Complete scheduled deliveries and collections in line with company requirements Plan routes effectively to ensure timely arrivals and minimise delays Ensure all loads are securely fastened and transported safely Vehicle Checks & Maintenance Carry out daily vehicle inspections (walkaround checks) before and after use Report any defects, damage, or mechanical issues immediately Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of assigned vehicle Liaise with maintenance team regarding servicing and repairs Compliance & Documentation Ensure compliance with all road transport regulations, including drivers’ hours and tachograph rules Complete all relevant delivery documentation accurately (e.g., delivery dockets, logbooks) Adhere to company policies, procedures, and legal requirements Health, Safety & Environment Follow all Health & Safety policies and procedures Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required Report any accidents, incidents, or hazards immediately Support environmental initiatives by minimising fuel use and emissions where possible Customer Service & Communication Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers and clients Communicate effectively with transport planners, supervisors, and site personnel Report delays, issues, or changes to schedules promptly Operational Support Assist with loading and unloading where required Ensure goods are handled carefully to prevent damage Support general yard or operational duties when needed General Duties Maintain high standards of housekeeping within vehicles and work areas Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Undertake any additional duties as requested by management Qualifications Valid HGV Licence (Category C / CE) Valid Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence)

Role Overview:You will work on vehicle assembly lines, ensuring high-quality fit and finish across all components. This includes work with hydraulic hoses, wiring harnesses, steel and plastic panels, and various bolt-on components. What We’re Looking For: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or background in plant/agri/auto mechanics Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems is a strong advantage Strong mechanical and electrical skills Excellent attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a fast-paced team Full driving licence (preferred) Minimum 1 year fitting experience (preferred) Hours: 41 hours per week, Monday to Friday
