Guidance & Counselling Service

Students in Ó Fiaich Institute can avail of confidential guidance and counselling supports. Personal counselling services are also available to all students in need. Our guidance counsellors are available for daily drop-in sessions or one to one meetings with students. Learners are guided through CAO/ UCAS or employment applications. With extensive knowledge of progression routes and university links, learners are well informed of all opportunities available for their future.

Personal Assistants to PLC students

A team of Personal Assistants (P.A’s) are on hand to work with students individually to ensure they reach their full potential. All learner’s individual needs are catered for on a full time in class basis or as one to one supports or occasional drop in sessions. Our friendly team of P.A’s are here to help!

Student Learning Hub

The student learning hub is a facility open to students every day without appointment. Here learners can work on assignments, seek academic support or attend workshops to facilitate their success.

CAO Application Support

The guidance team here at Ó Fiaich Institute ensure to educate all learners about the various progression routes available. CAO workshops, course progression talks as well as individual meetings are held with students to support them in their CAO choices and application. Universities are welcomed to the college to speak with students also.

Laptop Loan Scheme

All students can apply for the laptop loan scheme. This provides students with the use of a high specification device for the duration of the academic year for a very low refundable deposit. This scheme ensures all students have access to a digital device and the opportunity for success.

ESOL Support

International students can benefit from ESOL classes to complement their learning. Depending on the level of proficiency, students can engage in intensive, small group or individual classes. Ó Fiaich Institute is an inclusive environment that strives to provide a learning opportunity for all.
