Course Aim

This course has been designed to enable students gain a knowledge of the world of e-Business. E-Business refers to all business transactions conducted online. Students will develop an understanding of web design, bookkeeping, electronic communications, computer applications and business start-up procedures. 

Career Opportunities & Progression Routes

Students are equipped with the qualifications and experience necessary to progress into the Advanced Certificate in Business Administration in Ó Fiaich Institute or into higher education or progress directly into employment. Graduates obtain employment in areas where high level skills such as web maintenance and design, electronic communications and internet business transactions are required.

Entry Requirements

Leaving Certificate or Leaving Certificate Applied or Leaving Certificate Vocational or QQI Level 4 Award. Mature applicants (those aged over 23) will also be considered.

Student Services: €200.00 this includes a non-refundable deposit, refer Note 1 hereunder

PPC (Gov Levy) €200.00*( Exemptions may apply refer Note 2 hereunder)

Examination fees: QQI Level 5 €50 QQI Level 6 €60

Registration charges by professional bodies - These will be outlined under Additional fees for applicable courses. 

Additional costs which may include: Books, Uniforms, /Clothing and Equipment (e.g. Chefs Knives etc.)

Note 1: A non-refundable deposit of €50 to reserve a place on a PLC course.

Note 2: The following categories of participant are exempt from paying the contribution:

  • Full medical Card holders in their own right and their dependent children
  • Those who are eligible under the student grant scheme
  • Those in receipt of the Back to Education Allowance (BTEA) OR Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme (VTOS) ALLOWANCE.
