The beauty industry is a rapidly growing sector and this courses focuses on developing the relevant specialist and professional skills for a successful career in this industry. From waxing and skincare treatments to manicures and makeup application, learners will gain the skills and knowledge required to allow progression to employment in various areas including; Salons, Health Farms, Spas and Cruise Liners.

All our Level 5 PLC courses are open to school leavers (Leaving Cert/ Leaving Cert Applied Students/A Levels/GCSE or equivalent), QQI Level 4 graduates and mature applicants. A QQI Level 5 award is a prerequisite to access a Level 6 programme.
Learners can progress to study various related courses in OFI including Makeup Artistry, Hairdressing, Holistic Health and Wellbeing or Advanced Beauty Therapy. Learners may also progress to specialist programmes to gain a tutor qualification in this area in a variety of colleges in Ireland and the UK.

I found that the course content extensive and it provided me with in-depth knowledge across many beauty disciplines. The skills and experience I gained in one year in the Beauty Therapy course allowed me to gain full employment on completion of the programme. As a result of my studies, I am now working in the beauty industry in a local salon and I can definitely say that choosing this course was one the right decision for me.

The following categories of participant are exempt from paying the Government Levy (PPC):
- Full medical Card holders in their own right and their dependent children
- Those who are eligible under the student grant scheme
- Those in receipt of the Back to Education Allowance (BTEA)
First Aid Charge:
Fees charged by professional bodies - These will be outlined under Additional fees for applicable courses.
Additional costs which may include: Books, uniforms, equipment, beauty therapy kit and trips.
