Career Opportunities
Graduates progress to employment in various areas including:
Commercial Photographer | Studio Photographer | Videographer| Photojournalist | Portrait Photographer | Sports Photographer | Advertising Photographer
Two main career options for students attending this course are to gain a place in a third level college such as the University of Ulster, TU Dublin, DkIT and Dún Laoghaire or to obtain employment in the field of photography. Students assemble a photographic portfolio of sufficient quality and visual variety to help them achieve a place in a third level college or to introduce themselves to a prospective employer. This course also benefits students who ultimately wish to pursue a career in another area, such as architecture or graphic design, where photographic skills would be a definite asset. Throughout the year students participate in a variety of photographic assignments concluding with an exhibition of their works.
I would highly recommend this programme to anyone with an interest in visual media, be it stills photography or video production and for anyone wishing to pursue 3rd level education, a PLC course provides great preparation and insight to what lies ahead.
